BELIEVE IN YOURSELF
SHORT STORY IN ENGLISH.
Which one are you?
Once upon a time,
a daughter complained to her father that her life
was miserable and she didn't know how to do
it. She was tired of fighting and was struggling. One problem solved,
and the other quickly appears.
Her father, the chef, took her to the kitchen.
He filled the water in three kettles and then set them on the fire. Once the three pots of water boiled, he put the
potatoes in one pot, the eggs in the
second pot, and ground the coffee beans in
the third pot.
Then he let them
set down and cook without saying a word to his daughter. The daughter groaned, waiting impatiently, not
knowing what she was doing.
Twenty minutes later, he turned
off the burner. He
took the potatoes out of the pan and put them in a bowl. He took out the eggs
and put them in the second bowl.
Then he took the
coffee out and put it in a cup. Speaking of her, he asked. "Daughter, what do you see?"
"Potato, eggs
and coffee," she answered quickly.
He said,
"Look Closer, and touch the potatoes." She said potatoes were soft. Then he asked her to take an egg to break it.
After pulling down the shell, she observed the cooked eggs. Finally, he let her
take a sip of coffee. Its rich aroma
brought a smile to her face.
"Father. What does this mean?" She asked.
He then explained
that potatoes, eggs and coffee beans all faced the same adversity-boiling
water.
However,
everyone's response is different.
Potatoes are strong, hard, and gritty,
but become soft and weak in boiling water.
The egg is fragile
and the thin outer shell protects its liquid interior until we place it in
boiling water. Then the inside of the egg hardens.
But ground coffee is unique. When they came into contact with boiling water, they
changed the water
and created something new.
"Which are
you," he asked his daughter. "How do you respond when adversity knocks on
the door? Are you a potato, an egg, or a coffee bean?"
Moral Lesson.
IN LIFE, THINGS HAPPEN AROUND US, BUT THE ONLY
THING THAT REALLY MATTERS IS WHAT HAPPENS INSIDE US.
